El sabio
Alfonso X el Sabio, hijo de Fernando III y de Beatriz de Suabia, nació en Toledo en 1221. Se casó primero con Mayor Guillén de Guzmán, con quien tuvo tres hijos, y más tarde en segundas nupcias con Violante de Aragón, hija de Jaume I, con quien concibió trece hijos más. Fue un rey humanista y tolerante que dejó un importante legado en el ámbito del derecho y de la cultura. Y, de hecho, fue tanta la labor que desarrolló en estos dos campos, que a menudo fue acusado de poner más interés y ahínco en el saber que en el reinar.
Alfonso X fue el promotor de las famosas Tablas Alfonsíes. Años más tarde, Copérnico hizo uso de estas tablas astronómicas para demostrar que el centro del Universo era el Sol y no la Tierra, como se había afirmado hasta entonces.

The Wise
Alfonso X The Wise, son of Fernando the Third and Beatriz of Suabia, was born in Toledo in 1221. He first married Mayor Guillén de Guzman, with whom he had three children, and afterwards remarried Violante de Aragón, daughter ofJaume I, with whom he conceived three more children. He was a Humanist and tolerant king, who left an important legacy in the field of law and culture. As a matter of fact, such was the scope of the work he carried out in both these areas, that he was often accused of being more interested and of putting more effort into learning than into reigning.
Alfonso the Tenth was the promoter of the famous Tablas Alfonsíes. Years later Copernicus made use of these tables to prove that the centre of the solar system was the sun, and not the earth, as it was believed until then.

El savi
Alfons X el Savi, fill de Ferran III i de Beatriu de Suàbia, va néixer a Toledo l’any 1221. Va ser rei de Castella i una de les figures més importants en l’àmbit polític i cultural de l’edat mitjana. Es va casar, primer, amb Maria Guillén de Guzmán, amb qui va tenir tres fills, i més tard, en segones núpcies, amb Violant d’Aragó, filla de Jaume I, amb qui va tenir tretze fills més.
Alfons X va ser el promotor de les famoses Tablas Alfonsíes, les taules astronòmiques que més tard van servir de base a Copèrnic per demostrar que el Sol era el centre de l’Univers, i no pas la Terra, com s’havia afirmat fins aleshores.

Il saggio
Alfonso X el Sabio, figlio di Fernando III e Beatriz de Suabia, nacque a Toledo nel 1221. Innanzitutto sposò il sindaco Guillén de Guzmán, con il quale ebbe tre figli, e successivamente in seconde nozze con Violante de Aragón, figlia di Jaume Io, con il quale ha concepito altri tredici figli. Era un re umanista e tollerante che ha lasciato un importante lascito nel campo della legge e della cultura. E, in effetti, il lavoro che svolse in questi due campi fu così grande che fu spesso accusato di mettere più interesse e zelo nella conoscenza che nel regno.
Alfonso X fu il promotore del famoso Tablas Alfonsíes . Anni dopo, Copernico fece uso di queste tabelle astronomiche per dimostrare che il centro dell’Universo era il Sole e non la Terra, come era stato affermato fino ad allora.

Альфонсо X Мудрый, сын Фернандо III и Беатрис де Суабиа, родился в Толедо в 1221 году. Сначала женился на Марии Хильен де Гусман, от связи с которой имел три ребенка, а позже, от брака с Виолантой Арагонской, дочерью Хауме I, родились 13 детей. Он был гуманистичным и толерантным королем, который оставил след в областях права и культуры. К слову, он настолько посвящал себя этим двумя наукам, что часто его часто обвиняли в большем увлечении ими, чем властью.
При Альфонсе X были составлены астрономические “Альфонсовы таблицы”. Годами спустя Коперник воспользовался ими, чтобы доказать, что центром Вселенной является Солнце, а не Земля, как считалось до этого.
